The Passenger Shipping Association (PSA) today announces the re-launch of its website dedicated to ferry travel.  Boasting a stylish new design, user-friendly layout, and a new section with inspirational ideas and itineraries, as well as the latest deals and offers, the new website offers a one-stop-shop for all the information you need to plan a getaway by sea.

With more than 41 million ferry journeys taken every year, there's more to ferry travel than you might think. Visitors to the new website can choose from a variety of exciting UK and European destinations offered by 15 ferry operators showcasing routes to destinations as diverse as the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, the Scottish Isles - to Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and  of course Fance and Spain..

Whether you are a couple planning an adventurous road-trip, a family heading off on a camping or skiing holiday, or a group of friends in search of a chic European city break, explore the website and be inspired by the  itineraries and ideas.  With the easy-to-navigate design, you’ll have all the latest ferry news, schedules and services at your fingertips.

The re-launched website also includes information about the onboard experience and ‘busts myths’ about ferry travel with a list of frequently asked questions, ideal for those who are new to travel by sea.  Choosing your destination, type of ferry and itinerary is not only straightforward, but also fun.

The website also contains details about the ports and destinations with images and ideas about notable points of interest.  The website has a ‘super search’ feature which will act in a similar way to Google search – so that visitors can have even more details at their fingertips

Ferry travel has changed enormously in recent years and operators have invested significantly in the latest vessels and modern services. Travelling by ferry is perfect for those who have a second home on the Continent, or families who would like to take their four-legged friend with them on holiday – as well as those who are planning a chic escape.

Taking a ferry means no stressful check-in queues, no worries about going over your baggage allowance and plenty of room on board to relax and get into the holiday mood.  Ferries offer fair, flexible and transparent pricing and whilst full-service airlines are beginning to mimic the low-cost carriers by charging for seat selection, passengers can rediscover a traditional method of crossing the seas. Ferry travel allows you to travel with your own car, avoiding the hassles and often extortionate price tags attached to car hire.  Travelling by ferry is the hassle-free alternative that combines convenience, value for money and flexibility which flying simply cannot offer.

William Gibbons, Director of the Passenger Shipping Association said:  “We are delighted to launch the new Sail and Drive website and have worked hard to ensure it’s easy to navigate and remains user friendly, whilst also being inspiring for those who are new to ferry travel.  Our 15 ferry members all have something unique to offer and we hope the website inspires visitors to discover more about travelling by ferry.  We have a dedicated area of the website which contains a range of inspirational ideas, as well as a section with the latest great offers. www.sailanddrive.com, is the perfect research tool for anyone planning their next holiday or mini-break.

Sail and Drive, under the umbrella of the Passenger Shipping Association, represents 15 ferry brands which provide 41 million British travellers with reliable and comfortable voyages each year.
